Privacy policy
Last updated 13 October 2026
Klang collects no information about you.
That is the whole policy. The rest is detail.
Nothing leaves the phone
The app has no accounts and no sign-in, and makes no network requests of its own: the sounds, the layout and everything else ship inside the app and work with the phone in flight mode. The only traffic is Apple's own App Store framework confirming your purchase with Apple.
Motion sensors
Klang reads the phone's accelerometer and gyroscope to sweep the sound when you shake it and to shape the tone when you tilt it. These readings are used in the moment to change the sound and are never transmitted. The log described below keeps only summaries, such as how strong recent strikes were, never a record of your movement. Shake and tilt can be switched off in the settings.
The log on your phone
Klang writes a small text file, klang-log.txt, of what its sound engine did: when it started, which output it played through, whether it kept up, how strongly you have been striking on average. It holds nothing about you and stays on the phone, where you can read it in the Files app under On My iPhone, Klang. It reaches anyone only if you choose to send it, for instance with a report of a problem. Deleting the app deletes it.
No advertising, no analytics
There are no ads, no usage statistics and no third-party tracking or analytics libraries. The app uses only Apple's own frameworks.
TestFlight
While the app is distributed through TestFlight, Apple may collect crash reports and any feedback you choose to send, including screenshots you attach, and shares them with the developer. This is governed by Apple's TestFlight terms and your own device settings for sharing analytics with developers. The developer uses such reports only to fix problems.
Children
The app is not aimed at children in particular, but since it collects no data, the same applies to every age.
This website
The site you are reading is static and sets no cookies. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps ordinary server logs such as IP address and browser type for operating the service. The developer does not use these logs to identify visitors.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. With no data collected there is little to change.
